Homebrew, the Snap Store, and Flathub are the three package managers that have Jami for GNU/Linux.
-
Jami on Homebrew is community supported.
-
Jami on the Snap Store is currently officially supported. However, there are upstream problems with the Snap Store by Canonical, as unsupported architectures are unable to be removed from Canonical Snapcraft. It may be better to allow community support to take over if Jami is to continue to be available on Snap. Otherwise, it may be better to remove Jami from the Snap Store so that the Snap Store problems are eliminated. Another benefit of removing official support for Jami on the Snap Store is that packaging overhead would be reduced, as Jami is now officially supported on Flathub.
-
Jami as a Flatpak on Flathub is officially supported.
If you prefer to not use a package manager, Ubuntu 24.04 has officially supported Jami DEB installation files.
Jami is already playing in prime time for many.
