Android app not refreshing?

Hi.

Im here with my laptop and android phone chatting to a contact. I’m using the laptop to chat but the phone isn’t synchronising with the conversation “in real time”. I think its the UI as if I force stop the conversation on the phone and open it again the conversation is up-to date. This isn’t a sync, its there instantly, almost as if the app had updated the conversation but the UI isn’t showing the update.

–OR–

If I leave the phone for long enough (longest was 5 minutes) the UI would update loading the 2 way conversation I have had using the laptop.

I’m pretty sure Jami is running in the background its more a UI issue?

This is an interesting question, and it’s actually possible that synchronization hasn’t occurred yet. Jami’s synchronization within the local network is extremely fast, but multi-device logins often face synchronization and inconsistency issues, which stem from the need to reduce network load

yeah there does seem to have some sync issues. I’m working from home today so able to do a 3 way test (brother saying he’s not getting messages again).

Ive got my Trusty Lenovo T60 with Trisquel Linux, iPhone SE and Google Pixel 4a running Lineage OS.

The iPhone still seems to affectively go offline hasn’t been used for a while even when opening jami it takes a good few minutes for discovery to happen. I’m not sure of the work around for that.

Android seems to take a while to sync as well. As I’ve paired the laptop and android with the same JAC account, I would have expected them to reflect the same presence on contact status, messages etc. The Android is saying some contacts are offline, The desktop is showing some as away some are online even throughout the morning.
