Hello, i’m pretty new with Jami, it is easy to use and is not bloated like other aplications. i use it now with a friend for about a month. its great, it allows bigger file transfers since it is p2p, it is not that stable though. calls constantly break up without a possible auto reconnection or recall method. and thats the point? could ther ebe an option to have it automatically recall the last person when the call was ended because the connection was lost? or is there no difference between call ended because the person ended the call and the call was ended because the connection was cut due to network issues? this is probably the biggest problem i currenty have. Another problem might be the bad screensharing that it just shows weird gray lines all the time, it is not the worst thing since it goes away when you do the screensharing via obs and turn down the resolution. th ebiggest thing is that with the call and that it just constantly ends without notifying. and recalling manually all the time is maybe viable if it happens once every hour but every 5 inutes its a bit tideous. if there is some way to do it except having on eperson always o the call to press the call button when the call end and th eother person eiother accepting or activating accept very call. i would be most thankful if somebody could help me with this problem or if a fix is currently being implemented. edit: i can say that it now has ended the call aprubtly eveery minute for 30 minutes. if there is someone with a fix please help, because this is annoying. calling is now impossible if you want to talk about more than are you fine? yes. okay bye.
jami app stoped working? or the call end abruptly while you are on the call?
the app is still working, we are talking together and then it randomly ends the call, abruptly. this can happen after a few seconds or sometimes when it works 30 minutes or an hour after the call started.
I have the same problem. it just randomly disconnects the call on windows 11. sometimes the call works for hours but then when it decides to not work anymore it will just end the call every few seconds no matter how many times you restart it or restart the call.
Jami will end call if any user’s connection ip changes. Ex: vpn enabled or disabled. device switches from cellular to wifi and vice versa. A new proxy server in jami i switched to due to unstability.
The most common ive seen in my experiance so far is that phones will switch between wifi and cellular without telling you. then the call ends.
Or sometime your modem will renew its ip with the ISP.
thank you for the message, we e both on pc, and have tried it with vpon enabled and disabled, proxy is not set, so it is probhably the modem but only sometimes and then every minute, we will try a few things and see if something fixes it but currently nothing helps except bruteforcingly calling again and again if the call apurptly ends and pray to jesus christ that it stays connected for just a bit longer than the last time
Honestly, enabling the jami proxy can help with reliability at the cost of statuses not showing up correctly (i.e. constantly showing yellow) or if the the jami proxy found a way to turn itself back on, disabling it is was fixed it for me and my friends
