Default notification setting on Android

I’ve noticed the default Notification setting on the Android client seems to be Off as default at the OS level - meaning there will not be any notifications of new events. Can be corrected?

Need to go into SETTINGS>NOTIFICATIONS>APP NOTIFICATION and turn on the entry for Jami. If Jami is not listed, check the drop down menu is displaying ALL APPS.

The default notification you mentioned might be a push service notification. Actually, Jami can send notifications on the system by default. Push notifications mean that when you connect to a push server, the server will notify you when someone sends you a message. In this case, it may save your battery life, as your Jami may not need to be online for long periods of time.
However, Jami’s push notifications are not always perfect

It does seem to be setup for Unified push service however as far as I know unified push services don’t work yet. After the feedback I got I have had to ask people to go into the above settings so they get a notification on their home screen (android)

Is there any update for unified push? i understand the issue is outside Jami and more the Unified push service providers.

After adding the account, the Jami client here requested notification permissions. The test was done on the old Astarte version, but the behavior should be the same in the current version.
