Emoji button fails to show any emojis

I’m using Jami Világfa v. 202303232019, on Kubuntu 22.04LTS, KDE Plasma 5.24.7.

When using the Snap variant of Jami, the “Add emoji” button produces a choice of emojis. If I use the .deb install, clicking the button produces nothing. I can copy/paste emojis successfully.

Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find a solution?

I already saw this on my fedora for some weeks, but I never got the root cause, seems some weird caching issue. removing ~/.cache solved he issue however, but it’s like storage access wasn’t authorized (.cache/something is used to store the used emojis)
