I noticed OpenClaw, and if we could integrate OpenClaw with Jami, it might significantly expand Jami’s functionality
please no ai…..please….pretty please
What I mean is that Jami should have an API interface that can integrate with certain tools, making it easier for users to connect to the tools they need
Oh…….then….YES. YES. YES. YES. 100%. LETS DO THAT!!!
(sorry had windows notes flashback with the thought of ai)
one could write a openclaw jami client talking to the jami-daemon via D-Bus…
I installed Jami on a headless Ubuntu Server (where my OpenClaw instance lives) using the instructions found in the Wiki.
I got the daemon running with a user ID. I added this on my other device with Jami on it, and it appears to be online and all.
BUT, I don’t see any messaging functionality in the daemon. I’m looking at the daemon/bin/dbus folder on Git, but to no avail.
I reckon we’d need the client for messaging, but according to the Wiki the “Client API” is merely just an idea. I had a look at the client’s Git page as well for clues for integration, but to no avail.
Well, this was a good idea, but since I’m not a programmer, I won’t be able to contribute to this project.
But at any rate I think using Jami as a secure channel for interfacing with self-hosted AI - or other automation - would be ideal (as quite frankly none of the natively supported platforms in OpenClaw have any appeal from a privacy perspective)! These servers could keep running in local DHT mode, so they would also be relatively reliable.
Your response is great
