Immediate crash in Windows 7 after update?

Hi there,
after the latest update Jami will crash with the message that the application could not be properly started (0xc0000005). Same with the beta version.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall, no improvement.

Any hints or help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Same here on Windows 8 on latest update yesterday. Same issue if i install beta. Please fix the issue.

You can try to install older versions. Link: Index of /windows

Hi, same problem on Windows 8.1 x64. I also tried downgrading to jami_x86_64-202204011802.msi but hit the same issue. Also, since on Windows it forces updates whenever a new one is available, this probably wouldn’t have helped even if it had worked initially…

The last version that works is jami_x86_64-202112221025.msi.

(I recommend version 202010151812 (because of this issue) or 202011051157 (because of this issue))

Newer versions use Qt 6 that only supports Windows 10 (64-Bit only!) and Windows 11:

I would question why one would be using Windows 7, which has been EOL from security patching since 3 years ago (14 Jan 2020) as that is not a good idea.

Hi , everyone.

Can anybody send or provide a stable version for Windows 7? I administrate a custom network with old hardware, currently we have no any opportunities to switch systems to Win 10+

Unfortunately I haven’t the necessary version in Index of /windows

So, if somebody has the stable version for Windows 7 - please share. I would be very grateful.

Thank you, regards.

Hello,

Windows 10 or 11 is required to run Jami. Unfortunately older versions of Windows are no longer supported so Jami for Windows 7 & 8 installers have been removed from the archive. Even if you find an old Jami installer for Windows 7 & 8 chances are it won’t work properly. If your older computers don’t run any Windows-specific software you may consider upgrading them to a GNU/Linux distribution.

The Windows 7 operating system is no longer supported by Microsoft and has security issues.

Is the Windows 7 device using a 32-bit or 64-bit CPU?

Jami only runs on 64-bit hardware and operating systems.

After reformatting old Windows 7 computers with Linux Mint Cinnamon, they run better.
