Please tell me about some active Jami community platforms. Social media groups or forums where there are many active users, where you can ask questions and get answers in real time.
What I found:
#jami:matrix.org - the group there is dead
git.jami.net - judging by the huge number of unanswered issues, it’s pointless to ask questions there. And that’s not its main purpose anyway.
this forum - I wouldn’t say it’s very active, plus registration (as it turned out, registration emails are only sent to gmail) and then verification (I waited 5 days), many people might simply not pass through all these levels of “protection”
I would appreciate any links, perhaps this forum thread will be useful to someone in the future.
Hi friend, there may be some difficulties with Jami at the moment, but I would like to believe it, as a software that doesn’t require a big company to run servers, Jami is worth the wait.
There are also some Jami swarms where users try to assist others. If you speak French, you can try to search for Jami Entraide Utilisateurs from within Jami contacts search.
I am using this forum for getting help. From my point of view, people have been quite responsive to help me when I needed some advice. I am using the latest beta version ( Build ID: 202503290933, Version: a407fa2c.fc3402940) on a Win11 computer and also on an iPhone. Based on my experience, Jami is working pretty reliably for my needs (visioconference, chat, file transfer) , including SIP.
I know it’s reliable, I’ve done my research. I have technical questions to implement it massively at work and for myself personally. Questions that seem simple to me. I still haven’t given up only because jami is really good and it will work even if the community and all servers die (if configured correctly, which is what I want to do).
There is an IRC channel #jami on the Libera Chat network.
You can access it on https://web.libera.chat/?channel=#jami
Maybe useful if you want to chat with the developers.
You do not need to be registered, apart if your are connecting behind a VPN.
