I’ve been trying to set up Jami with a SIP provider (VOIP.ms) using UnifiedPush (ntfy). I’d like Jami to not run in the background, but still receive VoIP calls from ntfy which would be always running in the background. Is that possible with Jami SIP + ntfy? Does anyone have something similar set up or know of a guide? Outgoing calls are working, but I’m not receiving incoming calls.

I didn’t try since a long time, but jami follows this rfc
You’ll need a script on the sip server part to parse pn-param to send notifications when needed but it was supported at some point.

Yes, I have setup Jami with ntfy on a Pixel 9.
I have issues with missed notifications after a while.
For example, if the phone has been idle for a long time, it does not react to incoming calls.
I then try to awaken the phone by turning on the display.
The incoming calls are still missed.
If I then open the Pixel 9 past the lock screen, then incoming calls show up to Jami.
Further investigation needed.
PS I installed Jami from F-Droid.
