Live local offline text chat translator?

Hello everyone,

I love Jami for various reasons: it’s P2P, crypted, opensource, works on non-internet networks (I haven’t tried it yet) and … has extensions that integrate local AI live STT translation in video conferences. That’s all amazing stuff.

However I thought about some various other extensions that could be beneficial in my own opinion. For now the most interesting would be:

  • translates chat conversation text’s into another language text
    • translation could be either done automatically or on demand, following user’s preference
    • to limit the memory used somehow, there could be some pre-identified languages that would limit the translation possibilities

I’m fairly new into all development and coding stuff, I’d love to suggest extension codes with the SDK on my own, but my guess is that someone here might do better job than me.

I support you, but I’m afraid I can’t be of much help. I don’t know how to code, and artificial intelligence far surpasses my capabilities.
