Another one here searching for an alternative to Skype.
Love the layout and seems to have all the features I need but…
The sound is hit and miss. We keep having to restart for the sound to work.
The video is also hit and miss. Some days it’s ok most days it’s blurry and lags.
Screenshare only shares the main screen, you cant share an extended screen. Would love to be able to.
But the sound issue and video issues are the main thing. Having to switch back to Tamtam for now as this is sadly unusable.
Both on Macs, both have good internet speeds. One on Sequoia, one on Monterey.
Any advise welcome.

Please see the following post.
Hi, as probably other people here, I’m evaluating Jami for replacing skype, that was used in my family on windows computers (and I don’t want to continue with Ms…).
I did 2 tests with my father.
Both had the same issue, it’s unusable because of very bad sound quality.
First try on my “tower” (main computer).
He can hear me well, but on my side the sound quality from his voice is awful, a lot of “parasites” or kind of crackling sounds.
We both use logitech usb webcams (not the same models), …
With two monitors connected to the one device on Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon Edition , Jami allows sharing either screen or both screens.
Jami for desktop is created with the Qt framework for a unified and enhanced experience across GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows platforms.
Based on the Qt framework, both GNU/Linux and Windows PC (and soon macOS too) users will use the same Jami application going forward!
Thanks. I saw that other post but as it seemed to be about Windows I didnt think it was relevant. The last few responses are way beyond my capabilities of computers.
I have 1 extra monitor connected to a MacBook Air and it only allows the main screen to be shared.
