Mobile notifys me of incoming message when I send on desktop

Why does Jami see every message I send on my desktop as an incoming message on my mobile phone, and vice versa? Also, how do I stop it?

It seems the synchronisation doesn’t factor in, that this is the same account on both devices.

Theoretically, a message sent from one device is indeed new to another device, but this notification may not be appropriate. Perhaps a notification that multiple devices are online would suffice.
If the message is sent by another user, then notifications on both devices can effectively prevent the message from being ignored.

I’d agree with you if the message was sent by anyone else, but a sent message from my account is a sent message on every device. It is not a received message. This is the issue.

Your last statement is correct. All devices should notify when a message is received inbound. I would be rather disappointed if they didn’t.
