Linux desktop, two different systems: Debian 12 and Arch. Messages arrive silently. Audio is set up correctly, calls go through, ringtone sounds but messages arrive without sound notification. Very easy to miss.

Where did you install Jami for Debian 12 from?
Unfortunately, there are Jami users who are installing Jami from the Debian repositories, and the Jami versions are outdated, unmaintained, incompatible, and are causing poor user experiences.
Jami DEB installation files are available from the official Jami website and as a Flatpak from the Flathub package manager.
Arch
Where did you install Jami for Arch from?
Unfortunately, Jami from the Arch package manager is also outdated.

In Arch it is from AUR but very old.
I have Compiled from source:
git clone savoirfairelinux / jami-client-qt · GitLab
cd jami-client-qt
git submodule update --recursive --init
./build.py --init
sudo ./build.py --dependencies
./build.py --install
On Debian I have installed version from Officail Website.
Does sound notification work when Jami (Flatpak) is installed from Flathub on both computers?
I have installed it from flathub. But all the same. Message come in silently. Nothing change
