Portable windows 10 version

Please provide the opportunity to download the Jami portable version for Windows 10.
I know I’m not the first to ask for this.
Your installer on my windows ends with an error and I can not use the desktop version.

Support for Windows 10 ends on October 14, 2025.

  1. Are you using a 64-bit version of Windows 10?

  2. Do you have enough storage space on your Windows 10 computer?

  3. Can you please ensure the installer file is not corrupted by downloading it again from the official source?

  1. Would verifying the integrity of the Jami for Windows MSI file using an MD5 checksum help? If so, perhaps someone could post their MD5 checksum of the Jami for Windows MSI file in this thread?

Thank you

  1. Yes, windows 10 x64
  2. 5 Gb free space on temp drive (%tmp% and %temp% points it)
  3. File was downloaded multiple times and all copies are same
  4. Last downloaded jami.release.x64.msi has d54b8e9a9d333a636ce430a42cef75a7 md5 (149Mb vs 127Mb previous) checksum and also ends with same error.

what’s wrong with the portable version? Are you deeply embedding something into my system during installation? Why can’t you just give me the executable and assets in one zip archive? Is this free software or not?

My Win10 can install Jami normally.

Yes, Jami is freedom-respecting software that is both libre (with little or no restriction) and gratis (at no monetary cost).

  • Jami is libre software, as it is distributed under terms that allow users to run the software for any purpose as well as to study, change, and distribute it and any adapted versions. You can browse the Jami source code by visiting the following page.
  • Jami is gratis software, with the instructions to download Jami available by visiting the following page.

Jami is deemed “free software” as Jami gives end-users (not just the developer) ultimate control over the software and, subsequently, over their devices.

The MSI I am using is the same as yours, it works fine, I don’t know where the problem is. Jami’s packaging style is commonly used in the Linux world, leading to a heavy reliance on defaults.
