If I understand the current state of things correctly, there is no such thing as a “public” swarm on Jami, right?
Are there any private swarms that I could be invited to in order to test out group chatting on Jami?
Should I start one?

If anyone is interested, I created a swarm called “MyJamiForumSwarm.” If you want to be added on it, contact me on Jami. my ID is “iamtomte”
just tried contacting you!
H.
Just got the swarm working today. THanks to AmarOk’s help.
Turns out there is a bug where if your swarm has an image icon (which I had added right after creating it) that causes an issue where no invites got sent.
Thanks to everyone who has expressed interest in my “JamiForumSwarm” You should all receive your invites now.
Does that mean that, currently, for swarm groups to work there should be no image icon?
Does conversationRequest: fail to send group request with avatar (#1071) · Issues · savoirfairelinux / jami-daemon · GitLab relate to this issue?
Thank you
ovari: yes, that is the exact issue.
You should have your invite now!
If you remove the swarm image, do the invitations then arrive for people whom did not receive them before?
If not, how to you re-send an invitation that someone has not received?
Thank you
I don’t think that it’s possible to re-send the invitation at this point. I didn’t try to remove the swarm image and resend because of this. Instead I made a brand new swarm without the image so that I could send invitations to that swarm.
When you sent invitations, did you send invitations to new members when they are offline and they received them when they were online? Or did you only send invitations when they were online? Thank you
I honestly don’t know if they were online or not at the moment when the invitations were sent. But I do know that it seems to be working fine now. My swarm now has six people in it and we are all chatting away. If you want to join the swarm, just DM me on Jami I’m “iamtomte”
I keep my Jami account online at all times on my Linux PC, because having at least one node online all the time helps.
For everyone who was part of my swarm, I’m said to report that I just got locked out of it.
I had Jami installed on two different Linux boxes, and the swarm was working great. But then I added Jami to my Android phone with the same account. It added, but the swarm wasn’t there.
Then I looked at one of my linux boxes, and the swarm disappeared from there as well!
I could still access the swarm from the other linux box and was even able to send and receive messages. But then I exited out of Jami on that box and relaunched Jami, and the swarm was gone from that box as well!
I don’t know what went wrong.
I’m willing to try again with another swarm. Anyone interested will have to contact me again. (iamtomte)
This time around I’ll make sure that I’m not the only Admin, so that if it disappears again someone else can add me (or anyone else) back!
We were up to seven people in the Swarm before it died. It was quite good!
FYI, I recreated the swarm, and re-invited everyone who was part of the last one. So it’s back up and running again. Anyone interested in joining contact me: JamiID: “iamtomte”
FYI we had a few people leave and a few more join, so we’re still at 7 people in our swarm. The more the merrier!
Can’t seem to set up anyone else to be an administrator at the moment?
Yes, I think that at the moment each swarm can only have one admin, and it isn’t possible to change it after the fact.
@Tomte Did you accept my request to add a contact? I’m showing you’re online in DHT, but you haven’t been connected.
