Quality of life improvements for showing and selecting files

I have been using jami for a few weeks now and I am pretty happy, however there is one thing that bothers me on both linux AND android and a second thing that I find annoying on linux.

What I find unpleasant on both is that when you send/receive multiple files they are sent one by one rather than showing as a gallery, so to speak, while this doesn’t break anything, it makes it less comfortable.

Furthermore, on android videos show a thumbnail, on linux they show only as filename, which is not a big deal but would be a nice QOL.

Lastly, on linux the file picker is very uncomfortable to use.

Jami uses QT, and yet it doesn’t seem to use the qt file picker, it seems to have it’s own file picker that sadly does not show the thumbnail for pictures.

If I have a folder with a vast amount of pictures I have to look through them my file manager, find the one I want to send and send it from there.

Of the things I mentioned, how files are showed in the chat log is the one I consider more important personally.

This is a great proposal。:+1:

I once suggested using simpler icon displays for long texts without taking up too much screen space.
Perhaps the two are compatible

About the file picker, I am told that the freedesktop standard filechooser portal api would be a good option
