Is it possible to share the sound of a client’s video during a video call? I can see the video but not hear it. I can’t find a solution.
That’s a shame. Then I won’t get permission from my boss to let Jami run around our company.
- If you add a
to the issue at No option to share computer audio with screen share? (#1675) · Issues · savoirfairelinux / jami-client-qt · GitLab then:
(a) The developers will see you are interested, and
(b) You will also receive updates when this issue is being resolved. - You can still ask your boss for permission to run Jami around our company, as there are many wonderful features, and you can grow with Jami:
(a) Add yourself to Jami, and when you have multiple devices with the same username, you can send files (documents, images, etc.) between devices without a third party (no more needing to email yourself documents).
(b) Keep the intellectual property of your company within your company, as all chats between members in your company happen between devices. The most private is using a GNU/Linux operating system.
(c) There are many more market-leading features that Jami already has and are currently left to the reader to discover.
Thank you
Thanks for the tip, I’ll give it a try. We actually really like Jami because it’s not overloaded with unnecessary features like some others.

There is no other solution available in the market today like Jami.
If you or your company require any features, you could fund its development with a “Customization contact” by sending an email to sales@jami.biz. Everyone will benefit from your contribution, and Jami can grow too. The email address is at FAQ.
You can use a virtual soundcard - at least for the desktop versions:
If you are using Windows I can recommend Voicemeeter Banana:
Using Jami go to Open settings ➝ media ➝ Audio and change the microphone to “VoiceMeeter Input”
Thank you for your support. It does indeed work, setting the microphone to “Stereomix Realtek High Definition.” However, having to install additional software in other cases leaves a bad taste. This problem has existed for several years without a real solution.

Scrollbars are rarely displayed in the configuration menu, making it difficult to reach the lower menu items. It’s unclear why the scrollbars are sometimes displayed and why most of the time they aren’t.
-
When sharing a window, Jami regularly freezes. Only screen sharing works.
It’s sad that this program is apparently still unsuitable for use in a SoHo office.
If you don’t want to install a software you can try options like BraveTalk:
No data should be permanently stored if you use the free version:
