I’m having problems with Unified Push notification on Lineage OS.. Ive tried both ntfy and sunup services, Jami seems to register with the the services OK but i’m not getting notifications nor actions.
Although I’m showing as online, there is no status on my client list. Ive tried adding a test user but no authentication request came through. Soon after changing the connection method back to Local DHT. messages and the new user request came though.
Is this a known issue?
In such circumstances, priority should be given to determining whether the network can connect to the push service.
UnifiedPush without an updated proxy doesn’t work. See No notifications with nextpush or sunup with fdroid Jami client
I don’t think Jami has updated the dhtnode proxy software yet to have the unifiedpush fix. I host my own proxy using the latest master branch from github of dhtnode and unifiedpush works. You can host your own or wait for the official proxies to be updated.
thanks for the heads up. I think I’ll stick to DHT for the moment. Ive advised those who are on other no-google android devices to change to DHT connection. Will keep an eye on that post
