Why does my fan spin everytime someone sends me a text message through Jami?

It gets really annoying that my fan really starts spinning whenever I get a text message in Jami, like it goes into high, like higher than when I have video chat, like what resources is this application using just to have a text chat.

I’m running on a laptop I just bought last year with a fairly decent video card, so I am annoyed by it. (yeah, this wasn’t a low end laptop either, I mean it has a keypad and stuff)

Hi @Jastiv, which OS?

Could be a bug, although Jami does have to download messages from the DHT which might have to use more CPU than centralized services like Whatsapp. Shouldn’t be using more CPU than video conferences.

Here are my system specs from the about on my laptop
