This policy is outrageous, but I think it will just accelerate development of peer-based networking protocols. I will link related threads here for reference:
From my understanding, it does not matter if it is messaging or video/audio call, Jami will try to establish p2p direct connection, if direct connection fails, it will fall back to TURN server relay.
If you cannot establish direct connection, and you do not use TURN server, how can your messages be transmitted?
If we can create a DHT node simply and quickly, and we can easily send the address to our contacts, and the contacts can easily add the DHT node to their own accounts, then we can easily use JAMI in some of the harshest network environments, I think it is not difficult.
Of course, we may need to use some third-party software for this process, but I don’t think this has much impact on security.

Please consider adding an option to use Loki, I2P or Tor network in Jami. This should be optional and can be enabled or disabled in the setting and by adding such a feature this will allow all Jami users regardless if they use a VPN or not to have their conversations and calls not be tracked. I like Jami P2P system which allows you to connect between each other devices but some will not like this for privacy reasons and I think an optional network like Tor, Loki or I2P would solve this.
