A long-standing issue

Is this a duplicate of the Extremely low input mic volume for the persson i called (worked fine on signal and other apps) thread?

Please test again once a new Jami version is released that contains the merged https://review.jami.net/c/jami-daemon/+/33575 patch.

Sorry guys i’m far from that phone now. I’ll let you know, but not soon. Right now, I need the phone 100% running, nobody will touch it.

Android 8.1 was generally available on December 5, 2017. Is the Android 8.1 operating system still supported by Google? If not, is your issue reproducible on an Android version supported by Google?

For the following configuration:

  • The Android operating system was replaced with the GrapheneOS operating system (based on AOSP).
  • Google Play Services was not installed.
  • Jami from F-Droid has been installed.
  • Jami version Euclid – 20260312-01 (490) has been installed.

when someone calls:

  1. The phone initially vibrates.
  2. Then the phone rings quietly.
  3. Finally the phone rings loudly.
  4. Tapping the Accept call button answers the call, and both participants can talk and hear each other.

Right now, the phone is 100% running. On GrapheneOS, there are vibrations and ringing sounds.

Jami version Euclid – 20260312-01 (490) tested, no changes, no rington, vibration only. Back to 479 again. ADB downgrade not working for your apk, every test I’m using uninstal and instal with account backup jar “snapshot”, settings is not there every time, contacts only. F-Droid versions (must be compatible isn’t it). After every uninstall-reinstall I have to go through root to replace ring with edited reduced ringtone in /data/data/cx.ring/files/ringtones changing RWX to 600, jami is not accept any external ringtone.

All, all, all other messengers doesn’t have this audio/sound problems, on that phone. The default firmware of the phone is with WA included, the phone is nicely designed for messengers.

No.
