… and you don’t have to continue with Microsoft Windows.
Our operating system is Linux Mint Cinnamon edition.
Someone we communicate with used Jami on Microsoft Windows. The call experience was less than ideal. After upgrading their operating system from Windows to Linux Mint, the call experience in audio-only and video calls has worked flawlessly.
We have also had audio-only and video group calls with three computers all running Linux Mint Cinnamon edition, and the calls worked flawlessly.
One of the members in the group has a dual boot with Windows and Linux Mint. Jami does not perform as well with Windows as with Linux Mint. If this is due to “embrace, extend, and extinguish” (EEE), used internally by Microsoft, it is beyond the scope of any software development team to fix.
A possible solution is to upgrade to a better operating system like Linux Mint. You can also have a look at the End of 10 site for more information.
